Celebrating Life

Please join us in a mass celebrating our Mother's life on Monday, March 10th at 10am, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 1066 26th St in Sacramento, CA. There will be a reception at the church hall immediately following.

We will also be celebrating her life at a service in several weeks in Newport, Rhode Island. We'll post more details soon.

We are asking, that instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Mercy General Hospital Foundation or San Diego Hospice.

Well Leni Ann,
Apparently I am up with the rest of the family even though there is 3 hours of a time difference. I was just sitting at my kitchen table thinking of you and asking that you send me a sign that your journey to God was well underway and you are fine. Realizing the early hours of this new day I decided to come upstairs to bed and then to check the computer one last time for the night. When I opened your blog site there was your picture; with your eternal smile, those shining eyes, and the whole of your life espressed, and I understood that even with the trails of your travel right now you could pause and respond to me.
Now I know we will have that cup of tea and the " chat" we always promised ourselves, just not sure where yet....

Much love,
Martha

Well ... Big sister , You are on your way. You taught me to "Love the Process and we will get to our destination". Your life was an open book and a wealth of energy and spirit. Now you are traveling to a new life and I am sad that you have gone, but I know my life is much richer in spirit and compassionate empathy because of you.
Love You dearly sister
Karl

A message from the Kirchner Family:

To The Byrne & Eklund Families,

We just want all of you to know you are in our thoughts and our prayers. If it were possible for us to be with you now, we would be. We are with you in spirit and we look forward to spending time with you at the Memorial service planned in Newport. We extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your mother, and sister... God Bless the amazing family that you are. She and her life touched everyone and so has her absence.

Much love,

Dearest Leni,
I treasure the cups of tea, long chats, prayer times, laughs, tears, ahh-ha moments; all the ways we learned how the Spirit of God is vibrant and alive and nurturing us though our journey to be the best of who we are. It was with you that I learned the prayer of being; with you I learned the spirituality of doing everyday things with care and love, with you I learned how blessed we are to be part of creation. I'm so aware of how time slips by, of how quickly our children become the parents of our grandchildren, and I've come to learn that no matter how brief the times we have with each other, we impact each other. Leni, you are forever alive in my heart and are a part of my soul.
I've just finished reading your journey writings, am so touched. You've carried the Light with you, and brightened the lives of all you've known. You've helped so many to understand the love of God. Your spirit and love are alive in your children, and in their children; in your family and your friends. And your love, dear friend, is boundless and eternal and part of us forever. Help us to remember that endings are beginnings, to feel your arms wrapped 'round us as we grieve.
We will think of you in the dancing of the daffodils; remember your vibrance with the roll of the waves on the shore; feel your warmth when the sun kisses our cheeks; hear your wisdom words in the breeze and the wind.
Bless you dear one, Deep Peace. I love you, Patty

To the Byrne & Eklund Families,

Please accept our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy on the loss of dear Leni. She was a wonderful person with a unique sincerity and warmth that touched all of us. We will be at the Newport memorial service but wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. With the care your Mom / Sister showed for others, she is surely with God at this moment. We look forward to seeing you in April.

With much love,

The Vaughn & Miller Families
